Logitech Tap Room Solution For Teams FAQ

The Logitech Tap can be setup on your table, on a table mount or on a wall. With the riser table mount you will have to feed all the correct cables into the mount and place the top cover over the cables. Then the Logitech Tap will sit onto with the cables connecting to it through a gap in the mount. 

The Logitech Tap will have to be plugged in to a power unit, connected to your laptop with a HDMI cable and connected to the Mini PC via a USB-C Cable.  The Logitech Tap is now set up and you can continue to set up any other devices you have in your rom.  

The default password is sfb

You can log in to the Admin panel on the Teams PC with or without a physical keyboard attached:

  • With a keyboard attached:
    • With an attached keyboard, press the Start button five times — this will open the user login page. You can sign in as Administrator (default password: sfb).
  • Without a keyboard attached:
    1. When signed into SRS, click the gear icon located in the bottom right-hand corner next to the volume icon.
    2. Select Settings, the first option in the list.
      The User Account Control dialog box will appear.
    3. Enter the Administrator password (default: sfb).
    4. In the Setup menu select Windows Settings and then Go to Admin Sign-in.

Yes, there is Kensington security slot on the side of the touch controller and internally on the under side.

  • Zoom Rooms transform any area into a powerful collaborative workspace. You can build the room you need with Logitech’s hardware on top on Zoom’s cloud-based platform for scalable conferencing solutions
  • Google Meet Hardware Kits bring the experience of Hangouts Meet to the conference room. Its curated set of components work together end-to-end to make engaging HD meetings affordable and headache-free, scaling to any size conference room. Remote device monitoring and management make it easy for administrators to stay in control, too.
  • Microsoft Teams Rooms provide a complete Skype for Business collaboration experience, bringing HD video and audio into your meeting room, so you can quickly and easily join meetings, make calls, seamlessly share content, all from an intuitive touch screen console device.
  • Front of room displays and HDMI cables are not included, though Tap is compatible. 
  • A network cable is not included, but the preconfigured PC is ready to connect to your existing network with your own category cable. 
  • Credentials for your room system are not included. You, your service provider or administrator will need to provide them to join your existing Google, Microsoft or Zoom deployment.

Each bundle contains all necessary components in one package: Logitech Tap touch controller, a small form factor computer, room-optimized video conferencing software from Google, Microsoft or Zoom, and a Logitech conferencecam (unless the standalone touch controller is purchased).

The small room AV bundle includes Logitech MeetUp; the medium room AV bundle includes Logitech Rally and Rally Mounting Kit; and the large room AV bundle includes Logitech Rally Plus, Rally Mic Pod Hub, and Rally Mounting Kit.

What version of USB will be supported? What type of USB cable is provided? 
Tap is a USB 3.1 device, and a 10m 3.1 USB-C to USB-A cable is provided. It also supports USB 3.0 and 2.0. 

Can I use any USB-C type cable?
Yes, most USB 2.0, 3.0, or 3.1 cables should work, but we cannot guarantee full functionality with 3rd party cables. 

Is it compatible with other cameras or conferencing hardware?
Yes, Tap works with all Logitech USB cameras via the bundled PC, as well as other USB cameras or USB conferencing hardware.

Can I use the Tap touch controller with my own PC? 
Since we cannot guarantee full or even partial functionality, we do not recommend using the touch controller with other PCs.

No, solutions come pre-installed on Tap and are not intended to be converted from one conferencing solution to another.

How do I connect/set up Tap?
Simply connect the included USB cable from the Tap touch controller to a USB port on the PC, then connect your camera and audio equipment via USB. Next, just connect your monitor(s) to the PC, connect the power supply and power on the PC. You’ll be walked through a few steps on screen to finish setup.

Can I use more than one Tap touch controller on a single PC?
It is possible to connect a second Tap device, but only if the conferencing application supports it.

How do I use my existing cameras and monitors with Tap?
All Logitech USB cameras and audio equipment simply plug into the same bundled PC that the Tap touch controller plugs into. Monitors (and most other USB camera and audio equipment) also connect easily with the bundled PC.

Is there a wireless and/or battery powered version? Can I use any USB-C type cable?
A power adapter is included, but Tap does not features wireless connectivity or battery power. Most USB cables should work, but cannot guarantee full functionality with third-party cables.

What version of Windows/Chrome is supported? Is it compatible with other OSs?
Windows 10 and Chrome OS version 73 are supported, and come pre-installed on bundled PCs. We do not recommend using your own PC, and no other operating systems (such as Android, Linux or Mac) are supported.

What are the system requirements for PCs?
Tap will be sold bundled with a PC, which will come with software pre-installed. We do not recommend using a separate PC with Tap.

What drivers are required? Do I need to download Zoom/Teams/Meet myself?
PCs bundled with Tap will have either Zoom, Teams or Meet pre-installed. Tap uses DisplayLink drivers that are available via Windows Update and also pre-installed in the bundled PCs.

Can I install AntiVirus and/or Intrusion Detection Software?
AntiVirus or other intrusion software don’t come pre-installed, but can be installed on the PC.

What additional hardware is available?
Table, riser, and wall mounts will be available in a wide range of room sizes. Tap includes a 10m Strong USB cable; Logitech Strong USB will also be sold as an accessory in 10m and 25m lengths.

What is the screen resolution?
Tap’s touch controller has a 1280 x 800 resolution.

Can I use Tap as my main screen, or do I need a separate monitor?
Tap is intended only for use as the touch controller, so a separate screen is required for the full video collaboration experience.

Can Logitech Room Solutions connect to dual monitors?
Yes. The bundled PC will support dual display.

When a firmware upgrade is available for your Tap, you’ll be able to download a firmware application tool from Logitech. Launching the tool will upgrade Tap. Check the Tap Download page for the latest firmware upgrades.

In addition, we also provide updates via Windows Update, Microsoft’s tool for automatically updating the Windows operating system. When Windows Update is enabled, it will also provide firmware updates.
